The website is home to all information pertaining to events and news of the Vancouver Chapter of the SSEA.

The Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities/La Société pour l’Étude de l’Égypte Ancienne (SSEA/SÉÉA) is a Canada-based not-for-profit organization founded to stimulate interest in Egyptology, to assist those interested, professional and non-professional alike, with research and training in the field, and to sponsor and promote archaeological expeditions to Egypt. The SSEA was founded in Toronto in 1969; currently there are chapters in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary. Since 1970 the Society has published the Journal of the Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities (The JSSEA) and, since 1993, a Newsletter has been sent out to members.
