 Take notice that a Special Meeting of the members of the Vancouver Chapter of The Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities will be held at Alliance of Arts & Culture (#100 – 938 Howe St) in the city of Vancouver and Province of British Columbia onTuesday, June 4th, 2013 at 7:00  p.m. (seven in the evening), for the following purposes:
  • To elect the Executive members of the Vancouver Chapter
  • To transact such further business as may properly come before the meeting or any adjournment or adjournments thereof.

The chapter is holding elections on Tuesday, 4 June 2013 and is electing the following positions:

You must be a member in good standing to be nominated for these roles. To be nominated, please submit your nomination and a brief statement of intent. If you cannot attend in person, please fill out the enclosed proxy form and submit it before Monday, 3 June 2013.

5th Annual Meeting of Members

We are announcing our 5th Annual Meeting of Members as we are looking ahead into the future. It will be held at the Alliance for Arts & Culture on Saturday, 11 May 2013 from 3 to 5 pm (Entry is FREE). We invite all our members to participate in this meeting and to make their voices heard. The general public is also invited as it is a great opportunity to learn about the activities of the chapter.

Elections for 2012-2013

We hosted our Annual Meeting of Members, where a brief report on the chapter activities 2011-2012, a Treasurer Report and a basic outlook for 2012-2013 was presented. Here is the result for the elections:

Annual Meeting of Members

We are holding our Annual Meeting of Members in room Buchanan C203 at UBC from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Join us already at 6 pm for some refreshments before we begin the meeting promptly at 6.30 pm. This meeting is open to all current members and executive members of the Vancouver SSEA, as well as those looking to volunteer with us or become more involved.

Background

The Vancouver SSEA (Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities) is entering its 4th year of incorporation as a chapter in Vancouver. Members pay a yearly membership fee and receive discounts throughout the year, and can also be actively involved in promoting Ancient Egypt through the SSEA. We’re looking for you to join our growing and dynamic society!
