WORKSHOP: ‘Birth of Civilization’ through the UBC Continuing Studies on April 2

There is a great opportunity to learn more about Egypt in a one day work shop that is offered by the Continuing Studies Department from the University of British-Columbia. Entitled ‘Birth of Civilization: The Archaeology of Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia’, Dr. Jane Roy and Dr. Thomas Hikade from UBC will teach you about the early explorers, excavators and history of the Nile, Euphrates and Tigris Rivers. You will get to explore major sites such as Giza, Amarna and Abydos in Egypt as well as notable sites in Mesopotamia. Very important aspects such as repatriation, site preservation and conservation are featured also.

The workshop will take place on April 2, 2011 from 9.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. For further details including registration and fee information, visit the UBC Continuing Studies website.
